The Tutor House:

No pressure! Learn English as a Second Language at your own pace. We offer one-to-one help in the privacy of our home. We help with pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and spelling for adults and children.

Perhaps you write in beautiful Asian or Arabic characters, and you now need to learn your ABC’s. We specialize in handwriting. We offer daytime and evening hours, Monday through Saturday. Give us a call.

Hi! I’m Joey Buwalda- and no, I’m not a baby kangaroo!

I was born in The Netherlands and came to Canada with my mom and dad and 8 year-old sister when I was almost 7. I know what it feels like to be “different”. because we spoke Dutch at home.
I had no preconceived idea on how English words might be spelled or pronounced so I had to learn it all. English is not so easy because there are so many exceptions to grammar and spelling rules!
Having to learn those rules were beneficial when learning to teach English as a Second Language. I’m patient, qualified, and our sessions are friendly and fun so why not give me a call?
